Saragano Castle, probably of Lombardic origins, was a place of feasts and a happy dwelling place for the Roman consul Lucio Lucinio Sura, who probably gave the name to the castle. Thanks to its strongly fortified structure, it withstood the attack of the Perugini in 1320, even if, for a period, it was under occupation of Todi.
